The Great Hero • 599-527 BCE

Lord Mahavir, the last Tirthankara of the present age, was born as Prince Vardhamana in Vaishali, Bihar. At age 30, he renounced worldly life and attained Kevala Jnana (omniscience) after 12 years of intense meditation. He preached for 30 years, establishing the Jain Sangha and teaching the path to liberation.
